Goats are great in and of themselves, but once you add a sweater to a goat the greatness explodes all over the River Ganges. The place is Varanasi, India. One of the oldest living cities in the world deeply rooted in the Hindu traditions that the city and its people have held onto since the sixth century BC. The city winds down the sides of the River Ganges and is replete with stone Ghats (steps) where pilgrims, residents, and visitors gather to take in its splendor or partake in ritual ablution (ritual washing). The River Ganges is no place for the weak at heart or constitution. Although considered to be the holiest bodies of water, the Ganges is actually disease ridden water with human and animal parts, scum and factory waste abound. Better to just sit on the Ghats and watch the goats and body parts go by.
