Alice in Wonderland Bridal Shower

Last weekend I co-hosted a bridal shower for my niece who is getting married in October. Because of my mad crafting skills, I took on the task of providing the decorations. The series of pics represent my interpretation of Alice ala Lewis Carroll and Disney, but not Mr. Burton's version as the niece isn't into his vision. It was a lot of work, and it was really hot that day, but it was for a worthwhile cause. Crafting always takes me to my happy place so it was a pleasurable burden to bare. The wedding is in a few weeks, and once again it will be Alice in Wonderland themed. So many more projects to complete. I'll share those pics too!

Bridal party favor sachet's that I made. 42 of them cost me $24.00 total, and of course my time:

I found the cast iron rabbit on Amazon. I tied a black and white checker bow around its neck. The white tea set was purchased from Ross for $14.00, and the flower vase was a steal from Michael's for $10.00

I found these 3 wire tea cups at Ross. The two smaller ones were $4.00 and the large one was $7.00. I added synthetic hydrangias the I purchased at Michael's in the clearance section. Then I stacked them all up added some Alice playing cards and viola!

I found this old looking picture tree at a yard sale for $1.00. I added pictures of the bride and groom along with Alice pics and quotes. I added two vintage style flamingos that I found for cheap on Amazon.
       The bride-to-be loved this project.

Burlap banner with the 10-6-12 cards from the Alice in Wonderland deck that I found on Amazon:

I made cake stands out of terra cota planters and saucers that I purchased for $1.48 from Michael's. I bought Alice in Wonderland blue and painted the pottery. Mod Podged black and white checker ribbon to the bottom. Made 12 of these for under $2.00 a piece.

There were many more decorations, but I don't want to share them all yet as some of them will be re-purposed for the wedding. :)

  1. This Alice in wonderland bridal shower seems really fabulous. Want to have this theme for my bridal shower at one of New York wedding venues. Will be implementing your few ideas there. Thanks for sharing them here.
